Losin At A Money Making Game by Dr. Marshall Rosenberg

In a video on YouTube, titled Losin At A Money Making Game, Dr Marshall Rosenberg, founder of Nonviolent Communication sings a beautiful song, reminding us not to tie our sense of success, failure or self-worth with the money we make. I want to share these wonderful teachings about self-worth – radically different to our usual way of thinking and very inspiring.

"When the only money that you’ve got is money that you’ve had to borrow, and the gas company is going to turn the gas off if you don’t pay your bill by tomorrow. And you tell your woman and kids, things will get better any day. But you can tell by the look on their faces; they don’t believe what you say.

That’s when you want to remember that losing at a money making game doesn’t mean you are worthless or that failure is your name, or that failure is your name.

When your over 40, and your dreams for 30 still haven't come true, and everybody is making it big, everybody in the world but you. And your friends read the Wall Street Journal and all of their stocks advance while you sit down through the worn ends, just praying for any little chance. That’s when you want to remember that losin' at a money making game doesn’t mean you are worthless or that failure is your name. No, it doesn't mean your worthless or that failure is your name."
